At the 2026 Charing Cross Symposium (CX 2026), a panel consisting of experts in the field of hemodialysis access discussed why endovascular AV fistula (endoAVF) technology initially struggled and why they believe it is now poised for renewed growth as a part of a two part series entitled “The death and re-birth of endoAVF systems”. Part One was a retrospective analysis of why endoAVF adoption stalled, focusing on commercial and operational barriers. Part Two was more forward-looking, concentrating on innovation, lessons learned from first-generation systems, and the prospects for second- and third-generation devices like the Velocity System.
