While currently available percutaneous arteriovenous fistula (pAVF) devices have demonstrated a high rate of technical procedural success, secondary interventions are often required to achieve fistula maturation with these devices.

CLICK HERE to read an excellent review of procedures used to assist with pAVF maturation by Dr. Robert Shahverdyan which appears in the June 2023 issue of Endovascular Today. The type intervention varies depending on the total volume flow, location of a lesion, and type of pAVF.

Venova Medical is developing the Velocity System as an alternative to currently available endoAVF devices with the goal of reducing the need for secondary interventions to achieve fistula maturation and is currently conducting the VENOS-1 Study (link) to obtain initial clinical data associated with the use of the device.
